S4 Pupil Council Minutes – 8th April 2011
Present: Ms Gordon, Jenny Marsh, Stephen Parker, Kit Smith, Adam Veitch, Jack Earith, Lauren Reid, Alessandra Ross, Shannon Sutherland, Paige McGill, Ryan Gow, Mathew Rush Craig Morrison
1. Diaries
Ms Gordon circulated a selection of diaries. Pupils voted unanimously in favour of the small bound, Leeds company diary. They would prefer one colour and not the multi-coloured example. They also felt that as the diary was small, then the extra information section at the back could remain.
2. Uniform
Ms Gordon circulated the uniform samples from ‘Schoolwear Made Easy’, Inverness. After an informal fashion show, the group agreed that the school dress code should be black, white and grey and pupils in senior school should be ‘smartly’ dressed.

General Comments
· Allow pupils to choose their own preferred shade of grey – choice of 7 shades
· Allow black or grey cotton/denim trousers
· It was stated that it is very difficult to get nice ‘dress’ trousers for girls.
· Strongly discourage track suit bottoms for all age groups
· Encourage dark coloured shoes/trainers
· Shorts if worn should be longer than the blazer jacket
· There were mixed views on having a gold badge and gold braiding for prefects, some felt that keeping the silver badge and silver braiding would be nicer. A jacket bought in S5 could have braiding added on and used as a prefect blazer in S6.
